What, Exactly, Is A Healthy Diet Plan?No matter what age you are, sticking to healthy diet plans is a good way to go. Most people don't quite know what 'healthy' means, though. They've been taught by people on TV that it basically just means to eat cheese pizzas instead of eat pepperoni pizzas. Just substituting one bad habit for another isn't the answer. When people go on such things as 'low fat' or 'low carbohydrate' diets, they tend to greatly overdo what that means. In the case of fat, you should try changing some of the animal cholesterol fats with fats high in GLAs (Gamma Linoleic Acids) such as Extra Virgin expeller pressed Olive oil, or Flax oil. Thus, margarine can be reduced and Olive oil or sunflower oil, which is very high in Vitamin-E, should be included or even increased. We've come to equate 'diet' as meaning 'lose weight'; but 'diet' should mean 'the foods you eat, every day, that keep you healthy', of course you should have a healthy low calorie diet plan; but you can do that by eliminating a lot of the carbohydrates that you're eating such as spaghetti and bread. When you look in a dictionary, you see two definitions; in 'healthy diet plans 'diet' isn't the definition that means, "not eating". You shouldn't be starving if you're on a proper diet. Starving your body only causes it to rebound afterwards in an attempt to regain the lost ground during the time you've been starving it.
Even fasting can be detrimental to your body's health because an important amino acid called L-Glutamine, is pumped out of your colon cells, causing them to become partially permeable. This can lead to becoming allergic to various foods. So, just because people have said something was good for you in years, it doesn't mean it's good for you. If you've come to believe that 'diet' means to starve yourself to death, then you've become unhealthy just because you don't know what healthy means any more. For example, when you eat a healthy diet, healthy diet plans include fats and oils. Your body needs oil in order to be healthy; but the majority of fats and oils that you put into your body should be the right kinds of oil. Basically, if the fat is hard at room temperature, then that fat isn't good for you. Years ago people thought that margarine was better than butter for your body; but, over time, scientists have shown that both are equally harmful for your body. And, if you happen to have diabetes, things can be even worse. Unfortunately, 'diabetic diet food' oftentimes is loaded up with artificial sweeteners such as Aspartame or Splenda. A healthy alternative called Stevia is a good alternative to those two. It is extremely sweet, yet actually encourages the growth of proper friendly bacteria in your colon and creates a proper pH environment for them to live and thrive, as they should in a healthy colon. You should also concern yourself with nutrition; a healthy diet is a diet high in the B-Vitamins, Vitamin A, and all other antioxidant vitamins such as Selenium. You find these in high quantities in green leafy vegetables, particularly if they've been steamed or cooked just a little. Vegetables such as organic spinach should be added to your salads. Spinach is so much more nutritious for you than iceberg lettuce, which is what most people put in their salads; change that to Romaine, and inter-mix raw spinach with it. If you don't know what "healthy diet plans" means, start researching such things as 'raw vegetables' on the internet and you'll see just how many benefits they'll impart to your diet. A good way to lose weight is with a liquid diet to institute weight loss. Try juicing organic vegetables and supplementing that with a good high-protein liquid drink that contains either soy or whey. A juicer will greatly increase the vitamins and minerals that you're having, and at the same time will taste great. |
